GUIDANCE ON ISSUES SURROUNDING COVID-19

The purpose of this management brief is to provide guidance to Indigenous organizations on dealing with issues surrounding COVID-19 from a management perspective. A number of the National Indigenous Institutions have collaborated to produce this guidance piece. It is recommended that management consult their public health authorities regionally and nationally. Management need to ensure they understand the employment standards law that their organization is following. It is anticipated that this disruption could last at least four weeks.

The intent is to work collaboratively to “Flatten the Curve” of people who may exposed to and are getting sick from COVID -19 so that our health practitioners can deal effectively with those who have the symptoms. (See Annex D for explanation) This brief is intended to provide basic overall facts and outline potential actions to organizations. Managers might also consider the impact on community members accessing services.
